Ideas for inexpensive rehearsal dinner

Lia, on January 15, 2019 at 19:48 Posted in Before the wedding 0 7
Anyone out there with creative, special ideas for rehearsal dinner that don't break the bank? Specifically rehearsal dinners in Canmore? Would love to get some ideas!

We are trying to save costs! We have our rehearsal at the church and then we are just booking a side room for an hour and ordering in some pizza and wings! We didn't want to do anything too much, the wedding is enough planning I am trying to keep some things simple!

Our venue has a smaller room they like to offer couples for rehearsal dinners/day-after brunch which we are using!

You could also go to a restaurant, or if someone has a large enough backyard, do a BBQ dinner!

I agree with Breanne - if you have the venue the night before - use it! We're doing that for our rehearsal dinner too.

We're buying a bunch of frozen lasagnas, Caesar salad and garlic bread. Easy, inexpensive, and everyone likes lasagna!

You’re welcome! 😊 That’s definitely a good idea! Even if the hotel can’t help you out, they might be able to point you in the right direction!

    Thanks so much! ❤️

Thanks Tori and Breanne! We were definitely thinking a bbq would be the way to go but I’m not sure where in Canmore I can have one. We will be staying at the Malcolm so maybe they have a bbq we can book out. Thanks for the tips too!! Congratulations you two! ❤️

Hi Lia! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! 😊 I noticed our wedding dates are super close and that we are both soon-to-be Canmore brides!

Just like Tori, we have our venue from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon! So for our rehearsal dinner, we are definitely going to use that to our advantage! We are also going to be doing a BBQ the night before our big day. My FH and I are going to supply hamburgers and hotdogs, buns, and all of the condiments, as well as beer and coolers for those choosing to drink. We will also supply water and pop. Our families are super amazing and have also offered to pitch in. Collectively, they are going to supply salads, beans, and desserts.

We were considering doing a dinner out, but we are opting for something more laid back where everyone can just kick back and relax. We will be setting up/decorating our venue this day as well, so a nice chill evening will be much needed.

Another option we considered was food trucks! Such a unique idea I think! We are still actually considering them for our midnight snack!

    I hope this helps! 😊

Not sure if it's an option for you, but I will be having a BBQ for my rehearsal dinner where it's just BYOB Smiley smile We have the venue for the weekend (Friday - Sunday) so we will just have the wedding party and close family come out on the Friday night. We may also have BYOM... (Bring your own meat - we would supply mix, snacks, salad, etc.)

Otherwise my go-to for my rehearsal would have been a supper inside the city (our wedding is 45 outside of it), at a restaurant the weekend prior.
