Idea's for games at the reception.

Mickayla, on November 3, 2022 at 17:13 Posted in Wedding reception 0 3

I'm looking for ideas that we can use for games at the reception.

I'm not wanting *clinking* of the glasses to get the couple to kiss.

My older brother and his wife did that you have to tell a story to make the couple kiss.

Any thoughts?

Also, thoughts on the shoe game?

Just found fun ways. I bought bells but then thought it would be annoying.

    Sweet Treats

You buy Hershey’s Kissess in gold and silver wrapping ahead of time and put a number of both in a container (that you can’t see through). The attached card with the verse is is put on each table. Guests come up and reach into the box or the bag. If they pull out a gold one, the newlyweds have to kiss, BUT if they choose a silver one, the guest has to go and kiss someone.

Sing a Song With “Love” in It- Creatively engage your guests by encouraging them to stand up and sing a song that contains the word “love” somewhere in the lyrics. Guests can sing with a group, or by themselves. This is a great way to get tables involved.

Words of Wisdom/Advice- Ask guests to come up to the head table and share words of wisdom or advice for a
    happy marriage.

Use bells instead of glasses- Instead of the dreaded glass clinking, have your guests ring bells instead.

Putt for a kiss-This is for the golf enthusiasts. What you'll need is a small putting green and if one of your guests puts a hole-in-one then the couple will kiss. If they don't get it in the hole, the bridal couple draws a name from a bowl (which contains the name of many other couples at the reception) and that couple has to stand and kiss. You'll
need your DJ to help assist with the game and perhaps select certain people to participate in the game (grandparents, parents, wedding party etc..)

Hula Hoop For a Kiss-Set up some hula hoops and make couples hula hoop for a kiss.

Share about You-Have guests share their favorite stories about your hobbies and interests.

Our venue has a "no clinking on glasses or dinnerware" policy in the contract. So for our upcoming wedding Im doing a fish toss game. Toss the ping pong in the designated cokoured bowl for us to kiss. I am placing more bowls than pictured to make it a bit more difficult. Lol I am hanging the MC / DJ announce this before we enter. Fun for all ages 🤪Idea's for games at the reception. 1

I went to a wedding where if you wanted the couple to kiss you had to demonstrate a kiss for them to replicate or serenade them with a love song. It was quite entertaining!
