I'm at the point where I need to get music figured out. The plan is to chose songs, and then ask musicians to play those songs. I'm thinking for music, to have piano, and strings depending on who is around and wiling to play (I went to a musical school and have a musical family, so I have a lot of connections).
Here's what I know I need:
* Processional, at least one song, maybe two for when people are walking in. We could do a classical piece for when people are going in and getting seated and then have it transition into a more modern song when the wedding party starts to walk in.
* Song for walking out after the ceremony, ideally something more upbeat and modern.
* Entrance to the reception, just to have something to make it special, but that doesn't have to be live.
* A song for the highlight video we're going to have, that can be any of the above recorded ahead of time as long as it has somewhat of a building cinematic feel.
We'd also like to have a few special songs during the reception that friends and family would play/sing.
I'm not sure what direction to go. My partner and I like Marvel movies, a lot of Nintendo games, so that could be one place to get inspiration from. So far I've been looking at covers by The Piano Guys, and really like Anyone by Justin Bieber, and my partner unironically likes Never Gonna Give You Up, although I'm not sure how that would fit and not make it sound like we're trying to rickroll everyone. I like a lot of songs by Sleeping At Last, but not sure how to chose songs that fit the right energy.
For a bit of background, we both love music, and also the outdoors. Our ceremony will be outside with a garden area around. We plan to rent a digital piano and sound system. Due to copyright, we'd like to have at least one song be a cover for the video so we can post it online. If anyone has suggestions for what songs might fit with violin(s) and piano, let me know. I've found a lot of sheet music around, but trying to find the right songs is harder than I thought.
