How Much to Give for Bridal Shower Gift

I would do whatever amount you feel is right!

Whatever you can afford. So many stories about wedding gifts and wedding showers.

I am told that the wedding shower is different from the wedding gift.

I gave what I can afford at the shower and what I could at the wedding. Apparently rule of thumb is the price per plate. Apparently, you give a gift for the wedding shower and a gift and a wedding.

I am also told that if you can't make it, you still need to make a contribution. I made a post about that, it went 50/50.

I guess I would factor in what I would be giving at the wedding as well so I can have an idea of what my total spend would be... I'm curious to hear others input on this as it's been a while since I've been to a bridal shower. Maybe whatever you planned to spend on the gift just in $$. I'm seeing on the knot between $50-$75. Feels odd putting a number on it.
