How much do you care about tableware?

Joey, on July 3, 2019 at 08:26 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13

You've thought about centerpieces, and you've probably put some thought into your table linens and chairs, but have you thought about tableware? What plates will your guests be using? What flatware and glasses? Have you previewed the tableware your venue or caterer will provide? Are you upgrading it? Are you sourcing your own tableware for your reception? Show and tell!

I'm more worried about the food on the plate than the plate itself. I don't think my guests will care if they are eating off a thousand dollar plate or a five dollar plate. Actually they'd be more comfortable if they didn't have to worry about fancy plates breaking.

Our venue supplies basic white tableware and cutlery but I'd reeeeally like to rent some chargers if the budget allows. Probably not though and it wouldn't be a crisis at all if we didn't.

I will be renting some of the tableware only bc my venue only has paper or plastic available and even though we're not having a full dinner, I want my guests to use china.

Zero. We just used the restaurants regular linens and table setting. We could have brought our own or had something more fancy but we didn't care.

I’m not picky about the plates, cutlery and glasses, but I added table runners and napkins that are Tiffany Blue because I really cared a lot (to the point of panicking) about having only white table cloths

We're using what the venue gives us - standard white plates, glassware and silverware. We did get to choose napkin colour to match our wedding colours lol!

We are using elements of the venue's provided centerpieces (mirror base and tea light votive) but DIYing our own main centerpiece.

We're not upgrading at all. If we had the budget to, of course, but it's something so insignificant to the rest of the day.

We are going with what the venue has for dinnerware. Honestly if it were paper plate and plastic cutlery I wouldn't care, no one really pays too much attention to that, well at least with my bunch they don't.

All china, glasses, cutlery and everything else was included in our setting at the venue and wasn't worried so much about them as they take care of their property.

I know there are some that do worry because the venue doesn't seem to be looking after their property well enough to be looking good for the guests. I know someone had to rent cutlery due to the issue of forks being bent along with other things for her daughters wedding.

This is not really a big thing for me. Our venue supplies everything, basically just white plates, silverware and glasses. That is good enough! Many guests do not remember the tableware at the end of the night.

Lol I've thought about the tableware but not about the centrepieces or linens 😂

Right now I'm trying to find either copper charger plates and then also plates and cutlery or wooden slab chargers with plates and cutlery!

The place we have for the dinner/reception includes cutlery and silverwear. Its vintage looking which goes with the theme perfectly. We also didn't have to rent anything because included!
