How much alcohol is needed

We are considering a venue that does not have alcohol on hand we would need to provide it. What do you think roughly we should look at spending for 100 people with a good variety of beer and hard liquor which can be mixed

Only if you buy it off a special occasion permit. Otherwise you're stuck with it.

I would think it’s better to buy more than less. Pretty sure you can return unopened liquor.

The general formula is 1 drink per person per hour, and that should give you enough for everyone. I believe you pay a bit more when you purchase under a liquor license, but I would estimate between $2000-$2500 for liquor for 100.

    Happy planning!

Will you be hiring a bartender? If so they might have a good idea of what you need to purchase.
There are also online calculators that can be helpful. You can also ask your guests what they’re likely to drink. For example, if you know most of your guests don't like red wine you can account for that and buy more white.
