How many songs does a reception need?

I know we will need the first dance, father daughter dance, and mother son dance..

but how many songs in general are needed for a entire reception? cocktails will begin at 5:30pm and then supper will be about 6, and then reception and speeches are at 7.. so how many songs do you think we will need.. i am thinking the reception will run until midnight.. somene said thats a long reception, but to me it isnt.

I have like 43 songs if that lol.. HELP

    I did a bit of Math just now to calculate how many songs you would need. Smiley laugh

    I calculated that you would need about 6.5 hours of music, if you want to have something in the background during the speeches all throughout the cocktails and reception until midnight.

    If you consider, that an average song is about 2 min. 30 sec... you will need around 150 songs Smiley xd

    Try to find songs for these different categories:

    Reception entrance

    Background song for speeches

    Love songs

    Father-daughter/Mother-son dance

    First Dance

    Party songs
