How many Cake Tiers?!

I love your cake!! So pretty. FH was clear - no cake. I agreed but since it's part of our venue package, I decided - CUPCAKES! We sampled at our tasting - delicious!! And the guests can take home after. Only thing - our venue did not have a tray for them as usually it's a cake. Just purchased one on Amazon and ready to go. Looks like this

Your cake is so pretty!!! I love that. We are doing a small cake for us, I want the cake topper and the tradition of cutting it together. But because our wedding is so large we are doing a buffet dessert as well for our guests, it’s not realistic to get a cake big enough to feed everyone.

I'm a homebaker that specializes in cakes, cupcakes and chocolate so I am doing it myself which makes it harder to decide (and I haven't decided the decorating fully)
But at the end of the day we are doing a three tier cake with the bottom two being just cake forms and the top layer for us. Then for our guests I am making four or five flavors of either cupcakes or cakecups I haven't decided which yet
Cakecups are great for outdoors which is why I am tornBut from all the weddings that I have done 80% have done a couple's cake and then cupcakes. And I have done where a cake form is used to help keep the grandeur with a more friendly budget (not all bakers charge a lower cost for forms tho)

Beautiful Cake! We both agreed to omit the wedding cake. he left this up to me as he is not a dessert person. I went with 3 flavour cupcakes (Red Velvet, Vanilla Buttercream and To Die for Fudge) Yum!!!

We had summer tarts as our dessert : strawberry rhubarb/mixed fruit/chocolate peanut butter and a lemon mix - they were a hit! Al though if I would have seen something like this cake before hand I would have been tempted to do it...

We did!

The cake will be Cinnamon brown sugar with caramel buttercream and ganache and the cupcakes will be vanilla with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with oreo buttercream and lemon with raspberry buttercream!

We are planning on a one tier for the cake cutting and to share with our wedding party (our kids) and will be including various cupcake flavours for our guests with our sweet table

I think saving the top layer is always a fun idea!

I am only doing 1 tier cake and 5 dozen cupcakes. I will technically have 4 different flavours for our guests to choose from!
