Hello ladies and gents of WW!
Some of you know about my invitation disaster where the woman I was using passed away unexpectedly and I had to quickly find another vendor to do my invites - all turned out well so we were happy, however, we still don't have our cash deposit back from the woman who passed.
March 26 will be two months from the date she passed - we have had almost no communication with her sister who is now "running" things? The company appears to be running on Google it doesn't say its been shut down.
I work in law and know how Estates work so I'm just trying to get my cash back - I'm not trying to wait for the Estate to be wound up to be paid out that's just nuts (and it can take YEARS for this to occur).
Two weeks ago, the sister finally emailed my FH and I saying they hadn't forgotten about us and when our deposit is ready they'll let us know. So we were like great! Its been two weeks and RADIO SILENCE.
My FH followed up this week - no answer.
I feel we've been patient but my patience is wearing thin. We could really use the money as our house closes in May and we're strapped for cash, plus my bridal shower coming up that I'm paying for and of course, the wedding.
We think our next step is going to be writing a demand letter indicating if we don't receive our money by the end of March, we will be pursuing all of our available legal remedies.
Do you think this is too harsh? When would you start to look at your legal remedies? FH is a lawyer so its not a big deal for us to make a claim as we wouldn't have to pay legal fees. We are trying to be patient and understanding about the passing our of vendor but also - its our money, we need it and we did not receive the product.
Any advice?!
