How far out did everyone send invitations?

Sarah, on February 29, 2020 at 22:54 Posted in Before the wedding 0 20
Our wedding is August 29th very few out of town guests and we have already given out save the dates back in November. So when do we send the invites?I am the type of person to receive a wedding invitation and completely forget about it if it’s too far out but I don’t want to leave it to the last second either.

Our wedding is March of 2021 so a year out exactly from today. We are planning on sending out our invites by April the latest because we have a lot of out of town guests! I’d say a solid 50% of our list is out of town/province/country/continent!

Ok that sounds pretty reasonable actually.I will be buying a roll of stamps tomorrow and already have all of the invites but this way I can slowly fill them all out 😝

Our wedding is June 20. Our invites are going out this week. We don’t have too many out of town guests (they already knew about it anyways)... I’m the type of person that will forget to reply if I get an invite too far in advance so we thought now was a good time- with a reply deadline of May 16.

Our wedding is August 8th. I sent the save-the-dates in the fall and will send the invites early April. I am just designing the invitations now.

The furthest guest for us is Edmonton and they know when the wedding date is.The only other out of town guests are in Kelowna and they are 100% coming and helping me with a ton of the wedding stuff so I’m thinking about sending them at the end of April.I hope that gives everyone enough time. Most of our guests are coworkers or local family so many of them have already booked the time from work.

Our wedding is August 15th and we send out the save the dates around the same time as you. We sent out our invitations at the end of January to everyone because there is some family that are coming from Holland, so we wanted to make sure that we gave ample time for them to make flight arrangements.

We sent out two waves of invites since we had more than the max. number of guests for the venue and wanted to maximize the chances of everybody getting invited after some no's were recieved.

The second round of invites were sent out approx. 3 months before the wedding with the RSVP deadline at 1 month before our wedding. So for you I would aim for the end of May? But if you do big family get togethers around Easter then I would say to save on postage you could hand deliver them starting in April and then just send them out a month early?

We are August 8, I sent out the first week of February. We have out of town family though as well but also because it's summer and the earlier people know for making summer plans the better.

We're sending ours about 4.5-5 months ahead. Our wedding is in the fall and I want to get them out before everyone goes away for vacations and forgets to RSVP!

Your wedding day is my birthday 😉. We will probably send out invites late October early November for our wedding at the end of February. Thinking we should do an on-line save the date soon.

For me personally, the earlier the better but I’m the type of person that responds to invites right away LOL.

Regardless, you’ll be chasing some people for responses. People get busy, they forget, they’re waiting to see if they can get off work or rearrange their travel plans.
I would do it based on when your venue needs your numbers. Give yourself 2-3 weeks to chase down last minute stragglers from there. I’d give guests a month or two to respond from when you send them out.

I sent my save the dates a year in advance (summer wedding so we wanted to give everyone lots of notice in order to arrange summer travel plans around the wedding if they wanted to attend).

We need to give our RSVP count to our venue a month before (mid June) so we just sent our invites out this week and everyone has until the end of May to respond.
Lots of guests were surprised I “waited so long” to send my invites out. I thought I was sending them early LOL
