Thing to consider room blocks:

Your guest list is the key to see how many rooms are needed plus cask for few more in case some families need more rooms.

Contact the hotel to inquire about their Wedding packages along with pricing. The date and names should be under yours.

When creating your invites, include Accommodations with the following information:
Rooms can be booked under couple names
Room occupancy and rates
Hotel name and address
Social media: website, email, facebook and twitter (optional) for amyone wanting to see the venue.

You can have the staff email you time to time a list or updates of guests booking along with thier names. This way you can book the rooms available to you and have family near your suite.

I blocked out rooms at two different hotels so my guest had different price options, because everyone is coming from out of town. Neither hotel is charging us anything to block off a certain amount of rooms, but they do have a deadline. For example, my wedding is Sept 29, 2018 and one hotels deadline is Aug 15, the other is Aug 29. If my guests do no have their rooms booked by those dates, the rest of the rooms will be released to the public. So you just have to make sure that your guests know when their rooms must be booked by. Hope this helps.

I booked 20 rooms I believe. They did not mention anything about there being a charge if they aren't all booked. They only hold those particular rooms until a few weeks before the wedding and if they aren't taken by my guests then they put them back in the system for others to rent.

I’m going to be doing a room block for a hotel but I haven’t gotten to that part of my planning yet, so I have no idea! If you can’t find the answer on here, try calling hotels in your area and asking them. Good luck ☺️
