Apparently there's a flamingo beach in Aruba, so that's my number 1 excursion I want to travel to! Aside from that, I haven't thought of many lol. Where is your honeymoon going to be? What excursions are you going to do?
We're doing a "Weddingmoon" - we're staying at one resort for the wedding week with all our guests, then we're doing a second week in the same area at a more exclusive, couples-centric resort. Doing it all in one shot is a bit pricier, but saves money in the long run. Then we have the option of getting a discounted stay at the first resort for our one-year anniversary.
I am planning my own honeymoon as I love to have full control over where we stay and what we eat. so no travel agency for me but some ppl love the stress being taken off from them by going through travel agency so it just depends!
Thanks, Veronica! We're going to Croatia; I'm so excited. We also have a layover in Munich of nearly six hours so I'm hoping we have time to travel into the city.
Do you have any tips for the flight and/or layover since you have experience traveling to Europe? I'm hoping I'll be able to sleep on the flight, but knowing me I'll be too anxious.
We just used Redtag to book our honeymoon. We booked 2 excursions but the resort we are staying at has a whole bunch of stuff to do there. Aside from the excursions we have no plans for the honeymoon at all. We are going to take it all day by day and just enjoy the time, I'm sure if we were doing something other than going to an all inclusive resort we would have a lot more planned.
For sure! Where are you going in Europe? If I I've been I would be happy to offer any tips and such. Sounds so exciting! Europe is pretty user friendly to plan out, but it is nice to chat to someone about details and just other things. Helps put your mind at ease.
We went through a travel agent. Normally I plan trips myself but I figured since this was for our honeymoon it would be nice to have someone who has access to neat hotels/tours to point us in the right direction. We are going to Scotland and Iceland...we get to stay in a castle for two nights! I never would have found that on my own haha The only thing we booked ourselves was an Air BnB in Glasgow...just to save a bit of money
That's true, Kelsie! My fiancé and I went ahead and booked our flight so that's where I'm stuck as I primarily want help planning which cities to visit so I can determine how long we'll be staying in each city.
That sounds awesome, Veronica! Also I appreciate the advice as it will be my fiancé and I's first time traveling to Europe. I've reached out to tourism websites who have been helpful, but it would be nice to be able to sit down with someone to discuss logistics since we don't know the area well.
(We have booked the flight, but accommodations have been a bit more challenging as we have to determine how much time to spend in each city).
We're trying to figure out our itinerary; I've reached out to a few different tourism websites who have had suggestions, but I'm finding it more challenging than wedding planning so far.
Oh, no. I'm sorry to hear that, Tori! I hope your fiancé is able to get time off for your honeymoon. (If not, you will have more time so save so it isn't necessarily a bad thing!)
Also that's understandable. If my fiancé and I were booking an all-inclusive I'd likely aim for an excursion a day (or two depending on the complexity and length).
We have always gone through a travel agent when booking an all inclusive. The travel agent we use is super awesome. She helps us to get the best deals, best rooms, any upgrades etc. I could probably do it on my own, but she is the expert so it is just better to have her do it!
It makes my life so much easier! We give her the dates we want to go, and she figures it all out and then keeps an eye on prices

I think for this vacation I am going to use a honeymoon travel agent specialist. I think they can probably give me tips and advice I’d never think of!
We are planning it all ourselves! Its a bit of a mish mash honeymoon including a road trip through Germany, 2 nights at a luxury boutique hotel in Switzerland and then a week long cruise in the Mediterranean! However, both FH and I have extensive travel experience and are used to planning our own trips, and for others! If you have not planned many travels on your own then I think travel agents are great for fuss free vacation planning, which I think a honeymoon should be.
We're doing a cruise and we booked it ourselves, so there's a built-in itinerary for that! We'll have to book any excursions we want to do, but other than that, we're gonna sit back and relax
Although we haven't set anything up just yet (just found out my FH may be booked up to work until June of next year), I would imagine that we will book an all-inclusive place but not really plan more than a thing or 2 per day so we can relax and not worry about making it to all of the activities. Probably won't really have an itinerary with more than when we board planes and when we have to check in and out of the hotel.
