Honeymoon ideas for September

My fiancé and I really wanted to go to Paris and Greece for our honeymoon but I don’t think that will work out for us. Any ideas for a resort (we were thinking Sandals resort) or should we just wait until next year. We really wanted a getaway after our wedding to escape our family and friends lol - didn’t want to stick local (we live in Toronto). We both have our passports renewed and ready to go! Thoughts?

    Most vacation packages offer trip insurance if their is a tropical storm or hurricanes during your trip you can cancel for free (at least ours through WestJet allowed that!)

    I have been to Belize during "tropical storm season" 10 years ago and honestly it was not bad, some little "passover storms" during the evening, nothing to awful!

    No problem. I know with my works travel insurance and my fiance's work travel insurance, they're still postponed until further notice. Eventually I'm sure they'll reinstate them

    Thanks Amanda that’s a good point. I will call my work’s travel insurance and see what they cover and do some research before booking.

    I would personally wait until next year to travel in my opinion. Not only is covid still around in a lot of places plus this variant, travel insurance is still not valid. You go to another country and you get sick for whatever the reason, you'll be paying for it.

    Where in Costa Rica are you staying? We are deciding between Secrets or Azura. I don’t think they have a Sandals but now I’m over Sandals 😂

    We are doing Costa Rica, they are pretty open with travel right now and have a lot of all inclusive resorts if that is your vibe! I think they do have a Sandals or a Secrets.

    Hey Samia,

    we were in a similar place, Greece or an all inclusive for our honeymoon. We decided on Secrets Akumal resort down in Mayan Riveria that way we can literally just be potato after a year of stressful pandemic and wedding planning ext. We are eventually going to go to Greece next year at some point but we wanted our honeymoon to be more of "relaxing" over "adventure" As Brittany said, there is so many wonderful resorts outside of the "Sandals" name. Try looking at Azul resorts- sooo beautiful. Sandals are very pricy. Never been so don't know if they are worth the price tag.

    Hi!

    I have never been over seas so I can't really give an opinion on them besides the fact that I also really want to go there lol. But I will mention that Sandals resorts are a bit pricier than others because of it considered a premium name. There are wonderful places all over the globe that you can go for much cheaper than using the Sandals resort. For example, Grand Sunset Princess in Mexico is absolutely gorgeous and I am getting married there next year. I have had many family members go and its reoccurring for numerous people. And it will be a few hundred dollars less.

    With all this being said, I think because of the variant spreading I may hold off on booking something this year. You would be much safer booking next year so you don't lose any money.

    I would do Greece/Italy about anything if you can. Make it a summer trip next year.
