Hiding the Bride for Outdoor Ceremony

Hank, on February 17, 2021 at 15:58 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 19

For those of you who aren't planning first looks but had the ceremony outdoors (not in a backyard), how did the bride hide before walking down the aisle?

Our venue's area for an outdoor ceremony is a huge open field and there's nowhere for her to hide beforehand (nor would I want her standing around there for an hour as guests come in). If she comes from the venue building, it's a pretty long walk.

The curtain seems to be a solution for the bride as all the guests are seated and the wedding party and bride are ready to make their way down the aisle. The curtain can be closed as they enter and have 2 people hold the curtain as the bride is about to start. It would help to feel secure and prepared as her father (does walk you) ready.

4 people carrying a tent while she's hidden inside walking. haha. But seriously if she ripped in on a golf cart that would be hilarious Smiley xd

I was thinking the trifold at first but thought I'd look at other options 😉 definitely think the curtains are much nicer

Not gonna lie, I kind of want her to drive the golf cart down the aisle lol. She'll absolutely say no but I'm goofy and I think it'll be hilarious.

Hmm well it wouldn’t be the most glamorous but I guess you could fashion some sort of covering for the golf cart so she could be driven up just before the ceremony and still be hidden?

Will definitely look into this. When you originally mentioned panels, I was thinking those tri-fold things that hotel meeting rooms use for people to change but seeing this example visually is flowing some brain juices.

So how about a covered golf cart to get her to a screened off area like (so she isn't outside in heat for too long)Hiding the Bride for Outdoor Ceremony 2
Keep the curtains closed while she has a chance to compose herself then her bridesmaids can go through followed by her....you can make curtained off area as large as you like really

Maybe have her walk behind something bridesmaids can hold and have something like this for a nicer transition Hiding the Bride for Outdoor Ceremony 3

I guess that could be a last resort. I don't want her standing outside for an hour while guests trickle in though.

This is why we originally opted for an indoor winter wedding lol

The closest thing we could bring there would a golf cart. It's a golf course so it's a wide field of green.

Possibly make something that bridesmaids could carry that she walks behind until she reaches the aisle?

How about one of those blinds that they use to dress behind in old movies? The 3 panel kind

Is there space for a vehicle that she could be in or stand behind?

We tried to hide from our guests before our outdoor ceremony by hiding behind a large bush hahaha. We wanted our entrance to the ceremony to be a bit of a surprise and not just like alright everyone’s here let’s do it. Unfortunately when we walked from the parking lot to the bush our guests saw us so we weren’t a complete surprise but we still got some nice pictures of our entrance and walk down the “aisle”.
