Help! My venue space feels too small!

Shamelle, on June 30, 2018 at 05:30 Posted in Wedding reception 0 16
The first time I visited my slecred venue, I was told that we could easily fit 150 in the room. We ended up having that exact number rsvp. Now with the wedding approaching, we went to the venue and realized how tight the fit will be.

The venue uses 5-food rounds, so we’ll have 18 tables of 8.... I’m scared the rounds won’t fit comfortably and everyone will feel squeezed in.

does anyone have any solutions on how I can make the venue space feels less crowded? Would renting larger tables help??

We have an awkward skinny part of our venue. We chose to do longer rectangular tables to best use that space. If possible I would suggest you rent rectangular tables. Mighg end uo beinb a more effective use of space.

While round tables are beautiful, rectangular tables fit most spaces better and open the area up much more. The only time it would feel crowded though is when the crowd are all being seated, and when they have to say move to go to the dance floor. When they are seated they won’t feel cramped unless the backs of the chairs are stuck up against someone else’s?

When I worked city of Cambridge events there was a significant difference in space when we switched round tables to rectangular tables. Just a thought I thought I would share with you.

I agree with this! Rectangle tables can sometimes hold more people and you can arrange them easier and close together so that there is more "open" space in the areas that are open!

Just remember that once everyone is sitting, they won't necessarily notice the cramped space as much. It may be noticable when you go to stand up, but usually tables get moved around by the end of the night and people do their own thing anyway! I'm sure that they have had many weddings with the full 150 people, so I'm sure they will make it work for youSmiley smile

Ling rectangle table would look nice for seating over the round tables. The space will look spacious.

No don not get larger tables that will make the place feel boxy and squished. If you already got the venue booked you can see how many you bales gig on each side b cause you want toon in the middle got dancing so do that then get backcourt to me.
    hiw many people are coming??

What about large rectangular tables? I love the look of them at weddings! Rounds take up a bunch of space.

Maybe if you rented long rectangle tables that would help make the space bigger. I know at my friends wedding that is what they did at the clerks quarters at fort Edmonton and they angled the tables so there was more space down the middle.
