Head table seating

Taylor, on September 21, 2019 at 06:25 Posted in Wedding reception 0 7
Hello again!
We are in the midst of deciding our bridal party and we have landed on 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen. Now, being that my knowledge in planning anything - let alone a wedding - is pretty limited, I have no idea how to go about planning the head table. I prefer the look of having the bridal party all seated at the head table vs just the bride and groom - plus, as much as I love my FH, I also want to sit with the other most important people to me. That said, a party of 12 seems virtually impossible to make happen. Does anyone have any tips on seating for a somewhat larger bridal party?

Our head table will be for 12! All that has to be done is that we need 3 tables (4 at each), and we also need to arrange the tables along the long side of our venue rather than the short side. I would say to reach out to your venue and ask them - I'm sure they have had different set ups and will know how to set it up for that many Smiley smile

We have a head table of 19. We will have 2 tables, one in front of the other. Luckily our venue has a stage we can put the back table on, but if you go this route you can definitely rent a platform through a decorating company.

My FSIL has 7 people on each side of her wedding party and they all sat at the same table and I personally think it was too much to have 16 people all along one table.

I would suggest a sweetheart table, which is you and your FH at your own table on a stage and then your wedding party below at a table in front.

The wedding party sits in the second row as you sit in the first above them. That way it looks good and seperated.

What my FSIL did was her and her husband sat with the Best Man and MOH and their table was a little raised. The rest of the bridal party had a table below them but right in front. It was nice!
