Having a hard time with the venue

Jaunna, on October 26, 2017 at 13:20 Posted in Before the wedding 0 7

My fiancé picked the location for our ceremony and reception ! I love the pictures , Ive never been there . The event coordinator is so difficult to work with , doesn't get back to me , gives me attitude everytime I try to get information! I'm a super organized bride ! one month after we secured that date a year and half in advance I already had photographer , dj , videographers , dress , and most of the décor done. whats a way to get my point across that id really like the details done now, not 5 months before ! I love 5 hours away from the venue so going there isn't an option all the time !

Polite persistence is the way to go here I think. You may also want to consider a weekend trip up there to meet in person once winter is over.

Take it one day at a time and breath Smiley smile we are having a similar issue with our DJ. Send out all your questions in an email, thank them for their time. They are probably dealing with the other weddings before you guys. But yes I agree quite unprofessional. This should have all been determined when signing the contract

I don't have the option to do in person meetings, live 5 hours away.

ive told her multiple times I'm very organized and would like the while wedding planed by march. and every time I ask something she says we will go over that closer to wedding.

and the golf course is closed for the season so its not like she super busy

What information are you trying to get and have you signed a contract or made a deposit yet?

I would ask to set a meeting to go over details or even questions you may have with your venue. I find setting appointments works better with our coordinator rather than emailing her with questions.

Also keep in mind this is what they do everyday so to them its not a time crunch but to you it is. I was up front with my coordinator that I am planning everything in advance because that is my personality and what I want to do and she started to work on my timeline.

Most coordinators don’t start planning for an event that far in advance and she’s likely dealing with the weddings coming up now/in the near future. We had a similar situation and the coordinator was rather shocked we were planning so far in advance because they were nowhere near the timeline when they would start getting things going. I would keep asking politely and explain why you would like to have things figured out now and just be patient with her.
