Have you ever offered your officiant to stay for dinner?

Hi Everyone, We have hired a wonderful officiant and would like to invite her and her business partner husband to stay for dinner. My only concern is that they dont have the same views as us regarding covid. I believe almost all of our guests including ourself has been vaccinated but i don't believe she or her husband have. I am wondering if it would be rude of me if i asked her not to discuss covid during dinner. What do you think?

A lot of officiants are working multiple weddings in one day so they're bouncing around. And unless they know you personally, they likely won't commit to dinner as it'll feel weird.

    Hello Sepi, 👋🏾
I recently had this situation with my officiant.
We had to confirm that he was able to officiate our wedding since he was waiting on his license. We knew him from our church as he was the associate pastor.
That being said, we were not too sure as well if he needs to stay. But we did ask him if he will be joining us at the reception. He accepted that he will. So in a few days since the Covid vaccine mandate, we asked him if he’s vaccinated. I asked by using the text below…
“With the recent change in COVID-19 safety and regulations in regards to weddings, where guests attending are required to be fully vaccinated. We want to confirm if you fully vaccinated?”
    Hope this helps.

It's nice they stay if they feel comfortable and safe if she doesn't have any other weddings to perform that day. I'm sure they get asked as our Officiant was offered the same though he had another wedding booked.

Most of the time officiant's don't stay for dinner unless you know them personally. In regards to covid, if you think they're not vaccinated I would maybe not invite them if the rest of your guests are just because you never know what conversations could arise during the evening and it might come out that they're not vaccinated and your guests might feel a bit worried or acquired or yet things could go the wrong way with the conversation.
