Hard time coping

Kate-Lynn, on May 31, 2020 at 17:49 Posted in WeddingWire 0 5
Hello

Anyone having a difficult time coping with postponing your wedding? I am extremely sad because my cousin who is expected not to be alive in 2021 was coming home to Canada to attend my wedding and pass in a month or 2 after. Now I know she won’t be here for our new date and she’s having a hard time getting back to Canada. It’s hard to think the person I need there won’t make it at all.

Its sad to hear about your cousin not making it along with other guests, yet the one person you wanted to see utmost. Some cases are hard to cope as the times are just not right for what we want to deal of everything taking place. I do hope you get the chance to call your cousin and see how she is doing at times.

We were looking forward to having my fiance's parents, grandparents, and siblings in the same place for the first time in a decade. There's a (slim) chance they will be able to enter New Brunswick in the fall, but it still might not be safe for the grandparents to see them all. It's frustrating not knowing what the situation might be then, and dealing with some family thinking we're overreacting about the restrictions.

That's really hard! Moving your date and not getting to have someone so important there is terrible. I was pretty devastated for the first week after moving the date but now things are better. I don't have anything that hard going on though. ((((((Hug)))))) hopefully you two can video chat a lot over the next few months.

I’m so so sorry to hear this. 💔 You know, covid-related disruptions and postponements have (rightfully) been a huge topic of conversation in this community over recent months. And so many of us are (rightfully) devastated about delaying our weddings for countless extremely valid reasons. But situations like yours really go to the heart of why it sucks so much. Because you just never know what can happen in a year! I am absolutely worried about unexpected health crises, losing someone I love out of the blue and not being able to share the day with them, etc. And the fact that you’re forced to postpone with the knowledge that someone important to you likely won’t be there on the new date is just heartbreaking. I’m so sorry.
