If your cousins are distant to you as you are to them, they not need to be invited for that reason. Because of the family (parents) your close to and see often get the invitation only. Don't feel obligated to go out of your way to have their kids come to your day if the budget is tight.

If you sent them Save the Dates, I would invite them.

I didn't invite any of my cousins for that same reason. we want to keep it small and why should I have to leave out people I care about to invite family I never speak to because you're supposed to. do what you want. if you have to ask though I would say you know your answer.

I would say that if you sent them Save The Dates, you should invite them. I would be pretty offended if someone sent me a Save The Date and then didn’t invite me to the wedding

That would be totally up to you/your FH but most of all - your budget. If you can afford to invite them I would say to do so because they are 1st cousins. At the same time, this is coming from me who only has 3 first cousins... but my FH has about a dozen. Also depends on their ages I guess - we are inviting his cousins on his Dad's side as they are all his age (29 give or take), but his first cousins on his Mom's side are ages 2-8 so they aren't invited.
