Getting ready pictures - love em or leave em?

I love them if they are candid! my photographer includes them in his package- he doesn't have a set number of hours he shoots for, he leaves the venue at 11pm but will start as early as you want him to, so he will be getting shots of both sides of the wedding party getting ready

I'm not too sure if I want to pay extra time for those photos to be taken or if I should opt for one if my photographer friends to take it instead as a gift. There isnt much room for creativity with those shots unless your bridal suite is something totally unique like a bohemian tent.

Yes! My photographers are staying at the same hotel as I am and they are aware of those getting ready pics and that one has to drive around the corner for getting ready for my FH if he decides to be at home

I like them, but they aren't my favourite!

Our photographer will be capturing that portion of the day, but I made it clear that it wasn't as important as capturing our ceremony and our guests!

Love them. I didn't think we would be doing them but now it's looking like we can and I am thrilled.

I will get them done. Can't wait to have those special moments captured with my mom, sister and grandma (who will be almost 96!). My grandfather will be almost 100 - so my wedding is going to super special with them able to share it with me.

I love the getting ready photos just before the bride gets into her dress. I don't need the ones where we're getting our hair and makeup done, we'll probably get some selfies of that stuff lol!

I do like the dress shot in the window, and all the bride's accessories before putting them on, as well as first look with the bride and wedding party/parents. We'll have the photographer come up 30 minutes before the ceremony start time to get those kinds of shots.

I am going to have the photographer meet us at the church about 30 min before the ceremony to take pics of me getting into my dress and shoes and whatnot while my whole bridal party is there - since I will be getting ready with only my mom and sister that morning.

Not really my thing. Probably won’t get them done but I’m not sure just yet!

We will probably get a few done. We have the photographer all day, so why not. lol

I think they are cute so I love them! We don't have a time limit on photographer coverage so it won't take away from the rest of the day.

I wanted a few getting ready shots but not too many, and didn't want to book too much time with the photographer, so I had her come 15 minutes before the ceremony to get a few doing up the dress, putting on the shoes and jewelry, reflect in the mirror type shots.

We’re skipping them since we’d rather have more coverage of our wedding. Also, I’m only getting ready with my mom and sister, and we get mean while we’re getting ready! Those pictures would be a disaster!

One of my Bridesmaids is a great photographer so she will do our getting ready shots. We have our photographer booked for 10 hours and I would rather her start later (Noon) and be able to stay later.

I'm gonna be the odd one our and say leave em!! Haha... I do like looking at other peoples but they're not for me.

I love them. I think it’s a great opportunity to get some genuine candid shots.

Love 'em! I think it's so important to capture those relationships, and the moments that come from them!

Love them! Its really the time of candid pictures and the family getting in to have that time for full pictures to get beforehand. The time after the wedding gives you the opportunity with both families at one time to be in together and as separate with the couple.

This is what we did due to timing and basis of shots to get the best opportunity as to the group shots even with the families after the actual wedding.

When you look back at your pictures, you will have a good laugh and just remember the times then.

Love them! I don't care how bad any of us look with our stupid smiles! It's pictures like that, that you want to look back on and remember the exact reason you were so happy

I love them, seeing the girls and guys getting ready and when the mom is doing up the dress. Also cute last photos before in dresses with girls

I love the candid getting ready photos. I love any candid photos. Not a fan of the overly posed ones though..
