Getting Ready Location

Our venue has a bridal and groom suite which was huge for us. Although I think knowing my fiance is down the hall from me the whole time may give me a lot of nerves! Or maybe it will be calming...I don't know? I'm going to have my bridesmaids, my mom, my MIL, and my niece with me. The nice thing is my MIL can get ready with me but can also walk down the hall to see her son getting ready.

Since we're getting married at a winery, they don't have a place to get ready unfortunately.

For myself I'll be getting ready at my parents condo which is connected to the Delta Grand Hotel that looks right out onto Okanagan Lake. It'll just be my parents since I don't have any siblings and my MOH.

For my fiance, he will be getting ready at the winery Estate House that is located on the property of the winery with his family

If you're not picky and are willing to make do with certain spaces being a change suite, you can find quite a few options. For example, golf courses usually have change rooms so couples getting married in such venues can use a change room for the guys' getting ready area while the main bridal suite be used for the ladies and all storage of personal belongings. With hotels, one side can use the bridal suite close to the ballroom (if they have one) and the other use a regular hotel room upstairs (if the couple chooses to book one for the night). I've seen some people who got married in a conference centre type setting use a board room with blinds on the windows shut for the guy's getting ready area.

We got lucky because our venue's bridal suite can be partitioned into two rooms with separate entrances.

We're getting ready at the venue. Chinese weddings have a tradition where we need to have ceremonial events and prayers with each side's family and traditionally, that means going to each side's parents' residence prior to the venue. My mom is downtown, her parents are uptown, and our venue is in a different city all together. So rather than driving back and forth (especially during the winter, which we originally planned for) we said screw that and to have those ceremonial events at the venue.

When choosing our venue, them having two bridal suite options factored into our decision. Originally we were a winter wedding so I preferred we change at the venue so that our clothes didn't get mucked up by the elements in case the weather or road/floor conditions were not the best.
