Getting married outdoors in the winter in toronto

Alexandra, on November 25, 2016 at 18:12 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 12

We really enjoy the winter and would really like to have our wedding ceremony outdoors. Realistically our ceremony will be around 30 minutes is it unreasonable to expect our wedding guests to possibly endure cold and snow for 30 minutes?

No not yet hopefully sometime this week I have bridal gown appointments coming up and I want a coloured gown, then we'll pick a colour scheme.

I think there are so many things you can do! Sliver glitter looks wintery, and small twinkle lights, you can spray pinecones with white paint, or spray snow.....dried branches with snowy spray, cotton batting might work in some aspect

Have you chosen your colour scheme yet?

Thanks for your suggestions, we will be having our ceremony indoors but the cerememony space has windows all around it will be more practical.

Depending on the weather conditions and the setup for the ceremony, that might be kind of pushing it. How many people are you planning on having? I am a planner so I like to consider all possible scenarios. Is it going to be formal attire? Because if most women are wearing heels, it probably wouldn't be ideal for snow. Would the ceremony space be covered or shielded from the elements? A covered patio could be really pretty so you could still see the snow and have it as a backdrop without being directly in it. Maybe if you provide heating lamps that might help. You want to make sure that your guests aren't too cold that they're not able to focus on your ceremony. What would your bridesmaids be wearing? I'm assuming most guests would want to keep their coats on and the guys would be in suits but the girls might be chilly in a shorter dress or one without sleeves. Also, does your dress have a long train? You definitely wouldn't want to be dragging it through muddy snow!

I'm not saying it can't be done but these are some of things to keep in mind. I look forward to hearing more about your wedding! Smiley smile Good luck!
