Garter Toss!

Amanda, on April 26, 2023 at 18:39 Posted in Wedding reception 0 17

This one's less of a trend and more of a tradition that some people are deciding to do away with. But apparently 37% of grooms still participate in this reception tradition! Will this toss tradition make the cut for your wedding?!

We are doing both, no matter who's single or not. It took me a lot of years to get here (first time engaged to someone else at 19, getting married at 50), I don't care if it's passé lmao

Opting out of traditional garter toss. Modern weddings embrace diverse choices, and mine will reflect personal preferences, breaking conventions joyfully

I don’t think that we will be doing a garter toss or a bouquet toss

Skipping it because we personally don’t care either way, so figured not including it just makes more sense for us.

It doesn't mean anything to us so we are cutting it.

My husband and I really wanted it to go to our closest friends that have been together for just over 7 years! My garter went to my husband's best man which was his younger brother!

Despite being in our thirties, we do have quite a few single men coming to our wedding, and my FH is very excited to throw the garter directly to his best man, so he is set on doing this. On the girls side most women are in relationships, I have a couple of single friends and a few that aren't engaged or married, so I am hoping we get some participation in the bouquet toss too.

I think this and the bouquet toss are definitely something a lot of couples are getting away from. I know right up to a month before our wedding, my husband didn't want to do it but then he changed his mind and wanted to do it lol

My FH doesn't want to do it, and I may skip the bouquet toss since only two girls invited are engaged or married.

It will not be LOL, I think if we were having a way larger crowd and more "single" people than we probably would of done it. But all the men that are guest are either family or already married and to me that is just super awkward.

So this is definitely not making the cut for us.
