Food trucks at the wedding?

Shanice, on August 12, 2021 at 15:38 Posted in Wedding reception 1 4
Hello Loves!

What are peoples recommendations on food trucks instead of the regular 3 course meal? We’re both interested in getting a food truck vendor.

Did it go smoothly how was the line up? Let me know!

Love this idea! Food trucks can be quite expensive, so be wary of hidden fees. Some might guarantee to feed x amount and that's all they bring with them. I would get a couple of them to appease as many people as possible. Taco, pizza, dessert, ice cream, chip (fries/poutine, hot dog, burger), are popular ideas. Here's an article to help you with questions to ask!:

I think this is an amazing idea it really depends on your food trucks though, we had an event at work where we had food trucks, on any given day there are 10,000+ people on site where i work

wait times were roughly 10-20 minutes per truck some were 30.

in saying that hardly anyone complained because food trucks are amazing and the novelty of it kept people interested and excited.

    Hey Shanice,
I love the food truck idea. I went to a wedding and at the end they had a good truck and it was a very great and cool idea.

It really depends on how many guests will be there to give an idea on the line up.
What would be your food options on the truck?

How many guests do you have? It doesn't take much to create a long line with a single lineup so I would get multiple food trucks instead of just one. Even with multiple trucks, there are a few issues I see with this that you'll need to figure out before proceeding.

First, is your food budget. Most trucks will require a minimum spend to make it worth it for them. But what if your guests only like one truck over the others? What if one truck runs out of food, or you end up overspending on food for one truck because of how much of a hit it is?

Second is allergies and food restrictions. With a centralized caterer, this is easy to manage but with multiple vendors, this is tougher.

Third, if your reception is during a meal time, you'll need to provide enough food that is fitting for a meal regardless of whether you do a multi-course sit down meal or not. Depending on the type of food you get from the truck, this might end up costing you more than a standard sit down meal.

Fourth, trucks can only park and operate in certain places. Depending on the venue, it would be a hassle to be walking back and forth in heels to get a sample of food.

Just a few things for you to think about if you choose to go this route.
