Food Hall Wedding-thoughts?

Carina, on February 3, 2020 at 12:45 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10
Hi fellow brides/grooms Smiley smile
Just wanted some advice-my fiancé and I are currently planning our wedding for 2021. We’ve seen a few venues and they are sooo pricey 😔

We visited a food hall, it’s basically a hall with multiple food vendors. These vendors are slightly classier fast food- think pizza in a woodstone oven with fancier toppings or burgers with Brie, etc. Basically, a cocktail hour would be all the vendors passing out small bites of food like sliders and the main dinner would be more buffet style with the different vendors. The venue also looks really cool-a modern industrial vibe. Do you think it’s still classy enough to be considered a “nice” wedding? My family is split on this. I think I’m mainly worried that the food offerings may be a bit random- tacos, burgers, pizza, salads, etc. It’s not exactly food that all matches together haha. Would love some opinions!!

As someone who loves all food I think this would be fun and could be a really nice wedding. I'd be totally up for trying different things.

You could always rent a community centre or a party room in a condo and get that food catered in as well.

I've seen some modern industrial spaces that look really beautiful and unique. My city has a lot of these, former warehouses turned into theaters, restaurants, and entertaining spaces. It's a great opportunity to add what you want to the space with a beautiful raw canvas of brick and wood. I'm a fan of the soft wedding details next to the industrial elements (like draped chiffon and twinkle lights from wooden beams *chefs kiss*)

As for food, I like the eclectic menu, it means there is more likely to be something for everyone!

I agree with the other ladies - whatever works for you and your vision is what you should do! You are certainly giving guests a lot of choice on food which I think is really great. As long as there's something available for those who have food allergies/sensitivities and/or are gluten free, I think this sounds like an amazing place!

That sounds like an amazing wedding! I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Heck, for my wedding we had it outside the city and our food was BBQ, late night snack was hot dogs and s'mores, and then bonfires for the after party (after the DJ left at 1AM). Do whatever it is that you and your FH want/ can afford and stick to it. It's about making the two of you happy.

I think the sky is the limit! This sounds really neat, especially if you want a food centric wedding.

The beauty about weddings is anything is possible! If that’s what you really want, I say go for it!
Food can vary from fine dining to food trucks at weddings, so really, as long as your guests can eat it, you can do it!
