Fondant, Buttercream, or Naked Cake?

Buttercream or naked is what I like currently! My cake with be a buttercream geode cake! (not pink, because we all know what a pink geode cakes looks like haha).

We are doing a naked cake that has buttercream filling!

Like the less formal look..

I love buttercream and love the look of naked cake so we're probably going with a semi-naked cake!

I hate the taste of fondant, although I like that you can do more detailed designs with it. And I find naked cakes too dry. Buttercream all the way for me. Especially Swiss Meringue buttercream. It’s less sugary and more buttery tasting

I think the buttercream frosting is what make a wedding cake so yummy.

I definitely get why fondant is popular and useful, but I prefer the taste and look of buttercream!

Ours was actually closer to a whipped cream, which was really nice and light.

I love buttercream myself love the smell of it and just love it all together. I bake and make my own Birthday cakes and other events cakes on my free time. I love everything about baking and I'm very happy with the outcome of everyday living the life with my Husband he's so great.

For eating I like buttercream the best. For design I love the possibilities that fondant gives you. I just peel the fondant off and then it's fine...

I love buttercream and intensely dislike fondant. I'm neutral on naked cakes.

Buttercream! Fondant tastes like dye 🤮

I love naked cakes, I'm not a huge fan of too much icing/buttercream and loathe everything about fondant. But I'm fine with scraping off extra buttercream. The only drawback with naked cakes is that they dry out much quicker since it's basically just a crumb coat so it should be eaten in a timely manner.

Buttercream is our fav for look and taste! Fondant cakes are beautiful but it tastes like sugary play-dough to me.

Torn between buttercream for taste and naked for look but I love icing so... 😉

Though FH and I both prefer the taste of buttercream to fondant we are having a fondant cake so that we can have a more intricate design.

Although we didn't have a cake-cake (we had a Korovai) I would have had a buttercream over fondant or naked.

Ours will be marble fondant!
