Flowers for wedding (in a pandemic)

Avrianna, on March 28, 2021 at 10:42 Posted in Ontario 1 5
Hi everyone!

Was just wondering what you all are doing in terms of flowers for your weddings? My wedding is on April 17th 2021 and I’m looking for 4 bouquets for me and my bridesmaids, 6 boutonnières, 4 corsages and a tiny something at the end of each aisle. I’m not looking at spending a lot of money since this is a small intimate wedding but still want my flowers to be nice for photos and for the ceremony we are having. Any suggestions? 19 days and counting!! Thanks in advance 😊

Contact local greenhouses/garden centres and farms they might be able to help best because they are still in operation.

So exciting! The day is almost here. Originally we had hired a decor/florist company who will be decorating for our reception next year - we are still going through with our June 2021 ceremony. We basically asked them to just make our bouquets and boutonnières for us for June. I would just find a few local florists and ask them to make your arrangements and explain that you do not want to spend a lot of money. See what they can do, compare them and go with who'd best. You can even show them inspiration pictures and say you want that look but can exchange certain flowers out for lower costs.

See if there's a florist in town that does artificial flowers. You can save a tone of money that way

Because we had to postpone our wedding only 10 days out, most of our florist's order couldn't be cancelled. We did a short and sweet legal ceremony with only our immediate family in the park so we asked the florist to still do my bouquet, my husband's boutenniere, and then 6 vases of arrangements for around our ceremony space (we were not bringing our Chuppah which was to have a huge tapered arrangement). It was expensive (and then we had full florals for our full 48 person wedding two weeks ago) but it was so worth it; it beautified a half frozen, not enough snow park haha. All I can say, the cost is so worth it if you can swing it (we reminded ourselves our wedding was supposed to cost more than double what we spent for two events...).

Real flowers are great to have for a wedding though the cost is expensive for what you want to get for all of the following. Renting artificial or getting online/marketplace may be an idea of lower pricing and ready made. Aisle décor can be mason jars with ropes attached or lanterns with tealight candles than real to look natural. These times are not what we expect to spend more than needed for a wedding as it may be small.
