Flower girl / ring bearer

Amanda, on June 19, 2022 at 13:55 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 12
We’ve opted to not have either or, we have no nieces of nephews and all of our cousins are older. I don’t see an issue without having a flower girl or ring bearer, would you ?

You can avoid this part of the procession since there are no kids to be part of the wedding party. Its your day anyhow to choose what you want done.

They are certainly not essential. Like another poster here mentioned, it can be difficult dealing with young children in this role who may fuss and not take direction well. Having said that we are almost certainly having them at ours (they are my fiancee's grandchildren). The little girl is very excited about dressing up like a princess and being part of the wedding party; the boy is less enthusiastic but my fiancee is confident that if the role is better explained to him, he may be more willing to participate.

    Totally not a necessity.

my two kids are involved because well my daughter would have a fit if she wasn't the flower girl she's 7 going on 17... and the little guy who will be 3.5 will be the ring bearer just because he's roped into it because of his sister Smiley tongue ill have them go down the aisle and wherever they choose to stand they willl run off to during the ceremony

I'm not having either at my wedding. I do not know small enough children. Tiktok has people asking friends to to it as a joke to get the vibe going. It's funny to watch.

Honestly, our nieces and nephews were ours but literally just to include them.. the girls didn't do anything aside from walking down the aisle and the boys just handed us the rings when it was time (my 13 year old nephew held on to them in his suit jacket pocket).

We’re not having any either. Although we have nieces and nephews (cousins’ kids) but we decided to not do it still.

I have a seven year old daughter and a 9 year, old son and we still opted out of flower girl/ring bearer. It's so nice that you can make your wedding what you and finance want.

Definitely not. It's cute but certainly not must haves. Even people with children in the extended families often opt for not using a ring bearer or flower girl because they don't want to deal with fussy children not taking direction well.
