Float Buck & Doe / Jack & Jill

Allison, on January 6, 2019 at 10:48 Posted in Before the wedding 0 3
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a float for our Buck & Doe. Tickets are $15 before and at the door. We are having a toonie toss twice. Feeling like $200 is a lot of money to have on hand but not enough to make change and have toonies... looking for advice please ☺️ Our wedding party will also be able to assist in making change whether they have it on them or have to go get it from a secure location at the venue.

I would have 300 in 10s and 5s for change at the door.
And i would have about 200 in toonies for toonie toss

Hmmm, you're going to go through a LOT of 5's with a $15 ticket. For any group over 30 people I would honestly suggest a minimum of $300. So you can have a roll of toonies and 1 rolls of loonies, then I would have $165 in 5's, $40 in 20's, and $20 in 10's to make change.

I've worked a lot of different functions as well as being a server and working hospitality and while a nice rounded $15 is a cheap, reasonable ticket to need to keep in mind that very few people actually carry around cash nowadays. Most people will probably stop af an atm on their way, which means $20 central! Even at $300 it may be tough to keep a float with low bills.

You can always ask people to bring smaller bills, but that may or may not help. I would also suggest asking someone ahead of time to maybe be on call to run out to make more small change if necessary.
