Flameless Candles

Amanda, on January 19, 2021 at 16:44 Posted in DIY 0 13
I need some help I'm planning a moody gothic wedding and was really hoping to use black Pilar candles but my venue won't allow real candles. I would really appreciate some advice to create that moody feel with flameless candles. They will allow floating tea lights or candles within a covered base.

That's unfortunate that they won't allow real candles but open flames are typically not allowed in most venues due to the obvious fire hazard. You could do something like this:

I expect it might be even more difficult to find black flameless candles than real candles. Something you could do that might actually be cheaper than real black candles would be to spray paint the flameless ones black. You could just tape off the flame portion and they should still work the same and if you're a messy spray painter any drips will just look like melted wax!

of course it's in the states, so it will be expensive and duties etc 😢 but you could do a search for some in canada for a better price. I just searched "battery operated candles for candle stick holders".

    Flameless Candles 3

What about getting some battery operated tall candles for candle stick holders like the one in your photo? I think this was $14 for 2 so they might be a bit more expensive but if you had a few pairs?

Usually it's open flame candles they don't allow. Maybe try clarifying and see if they allow lit candles if they're enclosed in a glass cylinder?
