Congratulations and I hope you have fun planning!

One of the biggest advice I can always say for wedding planning, is don't be afraid to shop around! I actually joined a wedding buy and sell for my area and i was able to purchase things i needed and liked for WAY cheaper than it would have been. Not only has it saved me, but it also felt good to be in a wedding group, especially since we all supported one another. Another would be, try your best to follow the timelines, wedding planning often have, but if you can do something way before, than awesome! It just means less to do when the time comes to it!

Another advice i can give, is its going to get stressful, you will feel overwhelmed, but just remember to take a step back and just think about what you think your favourite part of the day would be. (For me I always think about the first dance, while my FH thinks about our first kiss to destress, also discussing it with you partner helps you better figure out what part of the night you might want to emphasize more of!).

Good luck planning, and remember it is your day and its to be enjoyed. It seems like all the small details really matter but in the end you'll forget about all the small things and just remember the best parts of the day that you looked forward to the most!

    Hi Joey
yes I have saw the tools and they are amazing. I’m just in the preliminary stages right now like looking for reception halls and such. Once I start into the bigger details I will be using the tools provided for sure .
    Thanks

Use the tools on Wedding Wire! They really helped us when we were planning.

Also remember to relax sometimes and just enjoy the process. It's about you and your FH and the rest is just background noise.

Here’s a screenshot of the book.

As for the guest list, I say chalk everybody down and start by the VIP and finish with the people who you’d be okay without. After talking to your FH and deciding if you’re having a big or intimate wedding, you’ll have a better idea on how to manage that guest list!!

I've been using alot of Pintrest to gather some checklist/blog/planning info myself. I didnt know where to start.

Me and FH are still in the beginning stages but it started with a couple date options with a preferred date to check availabilities, a rough guest list to determine numbers (we have 57 on the list, so are looking at 50 guest packages at all inclusive local venues) which then influenced our rough budget talk (and what is MOST important vs. We could live without), and filters into researching venues (what they cost, what is/isn't included etc) which then determines who else I need to book for vendors if any. I figure knock the big ticket items out of the way and start talking to venues/vendors/deposits, and the smaller details will be handled a little bit down the road.
As for the guest list..are there any/many on your list you don't talk to often? Only see a couple times a year? Do they ever call you/you call them(extended family you arent that close with), people on either you or FH list that one or the other hasn't met? Maybe consider some criteria like that to chop it down. Don't know if this is helpful but if all else fails google Google Google. There are lists for everything! Smiley winking

Its totally overwhelming. I dont think I've ever texted my mother as much as I have during this process 😅😅😅

Awesome and great advice thanks so much ... I find I’m having the hardest with the guest list. I can’t invite everybody but it’s so hard to know who you should not invite ...
    whats the book called ?

    Congratulations!!

Don't forget to breathe and try to enjoy it! It's you and you FH's day, so do what YOU want...the rest is just noise.

Have a quick chat with your FH, before a big family gathering (for example), so that you both are giving out the same information. We kept it vague around our extended family: "Oh, we're thinking September 2019."

Make a list of what you believe is important for both of you. Is it the venue, the flowers, the DJ, the food? This will have an impact on how you distribute the budget!

If your FH wants to help plan it all, make it a fun date!

Finally, I got this book during the holidays and it's great. If you really don't know where to start, I'd read this book!

    Happy planning Smiley smile
