That sounds like such a lovely trip you've planned!

Hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary by going on our much belated honeymoon. We decided to wait a year until after he finished his residency training. So this summer we are gonna celebrate our honeymoon/1 year anniversary/both our birthdays in France! We both haven't been before so we planned it together. Don't think we will be doing gifts since it's such a big trip already.

That's going to be a Big Yes for us too. Have a Weekend get away and Romantic Dinner.

I think we will go away somewhere even if it's just for a night. During our wedding ceremony we will be doing a wine ceremony. We have a wooden box with a bottle of win and two glasses in it and at our wedding we will put in a letter we both have written each other explaining why we want to marry the other - we will open the box on our first anniversary, drink the wine and read each other's letters. I cannot wait !

In 2015 my fiancee' has never been on a cruise we went on one. Thinking about another next year. We bought a 30' trailer new it's like a cottage up in Southampton go there every couple of days in the Spring til Oct

I mean it's still a long time away for us..need to get married first! But we'll probably take a trip to Vancouver or Vancouver Island (4-5 hours away) maybe even go to Seattle! Probably just a weekend getaway, few days tops.

Nice! Yeah I live in Maple Ridge! I went to high school in Victoria, so I lived there for 4 years. My mom still lives on the Island so we go visit (near Duncan) quite often.

I'm from Vancouver, so it's just out of Van, to Victoria, a day at sea, and into Seattle. So no flights! It's gonna be fun.

Yeah, my FH said that once we get married we won't be celebrating our dating anniversary and it kind of got me sad. Although I'll be honest that this one didn't feel as special as the others. I think it's because we have the wedding coming up soon and we know it's going to go to the backburner sooner than later lol.

View quoted message It’s a trade off for sure! I do not regret one bit of the travelling we have done or will do this year, but it is hard to just be throwing away money every month rather than investing it in ourselves as you put it.

I've been renting for years but for us for a little bit more per month we can invest the money into ourselves rather than paying off someone else's mortgage. But trust me we know how hard it is.... the market is nuts for first home buyers so we are hoping for the best too!!! Traveling more sounds amazing too!! Ugh there's so much of the world I want to see~

We decided that home buying was unachievable for us right now (we live in the Fraser Valley were everything is obnoxiously expensive) but we have a wicked deal on a rental, so we’ve decided to spend a lot of time travelling and exploring before we have kids since we have no mortgage. Might bite us in the butt later, but oh well!

I'm not there yet as my wedding is in October; however, I think a weekend getaway sounds perfect! Either that or a trip.

Right!!! I've been DYING for a vacation but with wedding and home buying we just can't right now (understandable) so I'm even more excited for this haha! We will have our Honeymoon sometime this year too but any excuse to go lie in the sun is good in my books!

Nothing decided for us yet! I think we have friends getting married May 2020 in Mexico so we may extend that vacation and call it our one year anni!

We will probably go to the hotel we are getting married at and spend a few nights there. It’s in the Rocky Mountains and we love it there

Our first anniversary will be a Sunday, so I'm hoping for a simple, nice day... maybe go for a couple's massage and a nice dinner out. We aren't doing a trip or anything. I have already put a deposit down for a mini-cruise for his 30th birthday, which is in May 2020, just 4 months after our 1 year anniversary. I'd rather do a trip in May than January, as we don't want to spend big money on flying somewhere warm, after our big 2 week Caribbean honeymoon this year.
