Find our seat

Kathy, on July 16, 2021 at 08:27 Posted in DIY 0 11

Hi everyone!

We are having a very small wedding. Only 35-40 people. I’m wanting to dyi a “find your seat”

All the options I’ve seen only look good with bigger numbers of guests. Any suggestions on how to still do this and have it look cute without it looking pathetic lol

Hi Hank, no I have nothing I’m gravitating too as yet. I like the individual name card idea though. Didn’t even think of that! Thank you!

I just made this for my wedding guest list of 47 . Frame was 4.00 From dollarama and I bought stock paper from Walmart and used Canva app to make and set up cards

I have name cards that will have table numbers on them. The holders I found are acrylic ice cubes because we are having a winter wedding. I found them on marketplace I can't wait to use them.

There are so many options you can do, it depends on your theme. For example if you are going with a garden/floral design you can use leaves (real or printed) with their names on a vine ( using ribbon/string/rope etc. and have the table number on the top of the row with it hanging by the guest book.

Names on the favours as you enter are great and can be grouped by table. (We are doing glasses with their names on them) But you can do keychains or name cards that can double as rings around glass stems etc. If you have a sweet tooth you can have individual chocolates (such as a Lindt which are individually wrapped) and use a toothpick tag on it with their name & table number.

So many inexpensive and fun things to do. Enjoy.

    Hello Kathy,
I went to a friends wedding that had mason jars with my fiancé’s and I name on it and table number.

In this case, if you’re doing favours (have them on the welcome table or besides the welcome table). This way you can add the guests name and seat number on them. That way, they will take their favours at the same time.
Or make a smaller ‘Find a seat’ chart with table numbers.
Or put an outgoing person to direct them to their seat (restaurant style) based upon that person having a list. 😂😂😂😂

What would be a cute idea is if you could find a small window that has enough panes for your tables, list your guests in each pane according to their table and prop it up on your greeting table! I have more guests so I'm using a full door but a window could be cute and not pathetic at all! You can drape it with some sort of garland and battery operated fairy lights too.

Do something that can sit on top of a table rather than a full frame on the floor.

You also don't need to make a frame or large sign that's typical of a seating chart. Rather, you can do individual name cards.

Is there any design in particular that you're gravitating towards but feel it doesn't fit your wedding? Show us and maybe we can suggest how to tweak it.
