Filipino/guyanese wedding reception timeline

Kathlyn, on April 18, 2018 at 15:37 Posted in Wedding reception 1 6
Hello all Smiley smile
So im Filipino and my fiancée guyanese. We are having the Hindu ceremony and a light dinner the night before.
On the main reception day will also be the catholic ceremony/ grand reception day. Our catholic ceremony is to start at 12pm and be done in an hour if all goes well.
Our reception is in my backyard 15 minutes away from the church wedding.
I just want to ask advice from all you lovely people what would be the best time to start cocktail hour. If I should have someone at my house receiving guests at like 3pm because idk if people will go home (they come from mississauga, Guelph, Scarborough)
I need ideas for cocktail hour, dinner start time, and just a general time line. Ps the Filipino wedding has a money dance ... so Idk if that’s included in the first dance or a second dance

    Lynnie's suggestion works.

If you choose to want to have everyone at the backyard cocktails for 2pm and reception started for 2:30pm. Have the money dance as soon as you have the entrance.

I'm Filipino too lol but my FH is laotian.
Anyways I would Definetly do cocktail hour right after your reception that way they can all meet each other and have light snack. This way you and your bridal party can have time to take photos after your ceremony. Have someone at your reception to kind break the ice or light music.

Hi Kathlyn! I think it makes the most sense to have your guests go straight from the ceremony to the reception! You could start cocktail hour in your backyard at 1:30 then kick off the full reception at 2:30.
