Fiancé(e) Friday - You and your boo's favourite holiday

Joey, on October 11, 2019 at 10:05 Posted in WeddingWire 0 16

The holiday season is already upon us, if you can believe it. What's your fav holiday to spend with your partner? What's their fav holiday? Do you dream up the best couples' costumes for Halloween? Do they give the most thoughtful gifts? Do you love smooching each other at midnight on New Year's Eve? Does your partner plan the most amazing romantic adventures for Valentine's Day? Are you counting down the days until Thanksgiving?

This past year has been the first time my fiance has had holidays off from work so they have all been our favorite! I really loved New Brunswick day in August this year. A big group of friends got together for dinner and a concert.

100% Christmas. We're both suckers for the decorations and excitement of it all. This year will be extra special since it's our first year as a "Mr. and Mrs."!

We both love Christmas and spending time with our families. This is also the biggest holiday for both of our families.

It's a tie between halloween and new year's eve! Halloween was the first holiday we celebrated as a couple, and New Year's Eve is always fun!

I’d say Christmas - We don’t always get to spend it together but when do it’s always a great time full of memories.

Definitely Christmas. It's so nice to have the time off to just relax and snuggle in our jammies with hot beverages. And the endless food doesn't hurt Smiley winking

I think FH's favourite holiday is Greek Easter. It's the only day he makes the effort to get together with all his cousins, aunts and uncles. I look forward to seeing everyone as well. My favourite holiday is thanksgiving. I live all the food and family without the stress of presents.

Honestly my fiancé isn't that big on holidays in that he likes all of them but doesn't do much celebration wise (or most. He's not the biggest Halloween fan but then again it's not really a holiday) BUT I LOVE Christmas and we just bought our first tree for our place. Which I think secretly my fiancé is excited even though he said if it wasn't for me he wouldn't own a tree 😂😂🤣

I’d say probably Christmas, only because we get 2 weeks off to spend together which is great.

We’re really looking forward to this year because we get to meet my FSILs baby for the first time. I’m a really excited aunt over here haha.
We’re looking forward to making our own traditions next year for our first Christmas married together!

I would say Christmas time since he's so big on the idea of the festive season. Plus I get to take care of gifts for everyone on the list. Family time is always the best when it comes close to the day together as we celebrate with both our families.

I am a huge Christmas nut. I love the snow, skating (we go to Nathan Phillip's Square a lot), gingerbread, eggnog, pretty lights, the coziness. I have dubbed November 1 "Christmas the First". We go to his grandma's every year in December to make gingerbread houses (this year we're going to attempt a gingerbread version of our wedding venue). Christmas Eve we usually spend with his dad's side, Christmas Day we spend with my mom and then we see my dad on the days between Christmas and New years. I love his gifts because he never puts them in boxes if they're odd shaped, he just wraps them as is and it's so cute.

Now, he's always said his favourite holiday is American Thanksgiving (even though neither of us are American.......but you know football and stuff)

He seriously takes the Thursday and Friday as his vacation days so he can watch football. It works out this year though because it means he can go to City Hall and get our marriage licence which is only open when we're usually working.

I'll have to say Christmas. So we have a three-year split (one year in our hometown, one year away and one year at home) and this is our year at home. This means that we won't have any family to visit or a hectic schedule. We're gonna wake up late on xmas day, stay in our PJs, make breakfast, enjoy some coffee and slowly open our gifts. We also go to Canmore for the day and skate in the sweetest pond ever. Smiley heart
