Father of the bride

Ashley, on July 27, 2017 at 14:54 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13

I'm not actually having my real father at my wedding due to personal reasons.

So I'm having my grandfather and step dad walk me down the aisle together. My grandfather was a father figure to me growing up since my real father wasn't around, and my step dad has been in my life since I was 16. So I think its okay to do so.

Wondering if I should also split the father daughter dance with them as well, have my grandfather start off, and about half way thru my step dad finish the song with me.

what do you think??

Not at all! Now a days you can have your brothers walk you down the aisle, your mom, your mom and dad, grandparents, dad and step-dad, step-dad and grandfather! There are limitless options!

I think that sounds nice! I have my dad and step-dad walking me down the aisle and then I am having a dance with each of them at the wedding!

Hopefully it doesn't turn into a big thing. I just get worried about it cause I don't like to talk about it.

If anyone asks you, which I think would be kind of rude, just say either "It's personal", or "He couldn't make it". Don't let anyone ruin your special day.

Does everyone know why your dad won't be at your wedding? I think most people won't ask and/or will assume your stepdad is your dad.

Yes, when I asked both of them to do it they were very happy that I asked. I'm just hoping no one asks why my real dad is not the one to do so. could make for an awkward night and I don't know if can handle that
