Etsy - is it worth it

Ashley, on September 13, 2017 at 13:54 Posted in Before the wedding 0 17

I've seen quite a few things on ETSY, and I'm curious if any bride has used it before, and what the thing is all about?

I looove Etsy for decor and personalized items! It's just an online marketplace, so make sure to check out the reviews and policies for each individual shop.

I ordered bridesmaid gifts, place cards, my wedding jewelry, our guest book, and tons of bachelorette and shower decor from Etsy!

LOVE Etsy. Not just for wedding stuff, but for gifts and home decor. I'd recommend it to anyone for pretty much anything! Hope you have fun shopping on that website!

I'm also a big fan of etsy. We have found quite a few things from there that we are using for our wedding. I purchased my earrings from there, our invitation templates and will be ordering more items before the big day too!

I'm a big fan of Etsy, even before being engaged! The thing with Etsy is that each item is handcrafted, so they can be a bit pricey sometimes, but totally worth it I've found. My fiancé and I both bought bridesmaid/groomsmen "proposal gifts" from Etsy, and they were gorgeous! I got the bridesmaids personalized champagne flutes, and he got the groomsmen personalized flasks - both we're exceptional quality!

I love Etsy!! I got all my MoH/Bridesmaids/Flowergirl gifts on Etsy. All were beautiful, excellent quality, and affordable. My hubby even got his bestman/ring bearer gifts on Etsy too. You still have to look at the shop's reviews and the detaila of each item before deciding if it's worth it to you. There were lots of stores that I passed on before finding the items I bought.

No kidding. Also pinterest has been my best friend for getting inspiration too.

Depends what you are buying... I have found some really good deals on stuff on etsy... But yes a lot of the original and unique stuff does cost a bit more. And when shopping for items dont forget to add shipping charges on top Smiley atonished

I pretty much bought all my wedding stuff off Etsy but that's because I'm lazy and also don't have time to deal with the stress of doing everything myself. Some things on there are very expensive and other things are reasonable. For instance, I paid like 5 bucks for a seating chart template/escort card thing and I could print off as many as I needed. So easy. But you just have to shop around. It also makes for good inspiration. So like Andrea said, the globe on Etsy was 300 bucks but it's way cheaper to just make it yourself. So if you see something you like you can try to replicate it for cheaper!

It depends on the item. I love Etsy for a lot of things, but because items are handmade, they tend to be a bit more pricey.
We wanted to go with a guest globe instead of a guest book and looking at having one made was about $300 on Etsy. I found a used globe and painted it all myself for under $50.

Craftsmanship is always top notch, though. You won't regret a purchase from Etsy. And in my experience, if you're unhappy, vendors are happy to go the extra mile to make it right since its their personal brand.
