Engagement Ring is Too Big

Kaitlin, on June 27, 2019 at 12:39 Posted in Before the wedding 0 8
Hi all!
My fiancé sized my ring perfectly- before I lost weight. I heard that you can put a spring at the back as a temporary fix. I don’t want to resize it in case my fingers get bigger or smaller again. Does anyone have any experience with this and suggestions? I’m hesitant to wear my ring in case it slides off. I love it and don’t want to risk losing it. Thanks in advance!

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I had mine sized and then lost weight. It doesn’t slide right off my finger, but it is much looser.
I thought about having it resized, but I don’t want to get it too small and then have to add to it later

My husband and I had the same problem though his ring fit perfectly at the wedding time. There is a clip that is attached to ring adjusting to your finger so you can have a temporary fix for the time being. It doesn't cost much or they do it for free if you bought it from them. They adjust to dip of the finger and siding of the ring itself.

I wouldn't resize either of you're worried it may need to be changed again. metal can only take so much. you can get metal balls melted onto the inside of it that can also easily be removed by a jeweller. the balls just hold the ring in place and I've heard you don't even feel it. A little more permanent than springs or bands but more comfortable and it doesn't alter the ring at all.

My only concern is resizing it the second time if necessary. I initially was going to do that

You can buy plastic ring snuggies from icing/ardenes!! That's what my FH did when he proposed because he didn't know my size

I would take it to a jeweler or repair place and ask them for suggestions. Maybe they can downsize it now and add to it later if necessary?
