I don't know any hockey arenas in Ontario, however, I agree that if you get some good snowy Winter weather in ON this time of year, to take advantage of it, and look for ice rinks outdoors. I think it would be super picturesque, and really special.

Try Prince of Wales park in Mimco. It has a rink and it’s by the water.

Also consider Trinity Bellwood’s Park

Did you want an indoor rink? This time of year you might be able to find a locally built public rink in a park that would be nice!

Sports Village Ice Rental

I don't know the price, but here's a link to The Sports Village in Vaughan (Keele and Rutherford). I know they have nice rinks and hopefully they fit into your price-point!
