If that shirt represents who he is and he's happy and comfortable in it, I say go for it. In terms of the ensemble as a whole, nothing clashes in my mind.

I think they look good! Patterns are in, and so are what some considered mismatched patterns. Most important thing is that both you and the fiance are comfortable (and happy) in what you are wearing, if you are not, the uncomfortable feeling can show in the images.. Can't wait to see the final product!
