Engagement Party Timeline

Hi! My fiancé and I got engaged at the end of July, but we aren’t having our engagement party until the beginning of March. We didn’t decide on a wedding venue until November and then we wanted to wait until after football season to have it, plus we wanted it to start getting a little warmer before having it as well. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had an engagement party 8 months after getting engaged? Our wedding won’t be for another 6 months after so I feel like it isn’t too weird.
