My fiance and I are planning our engagement party for August of this year, we are trying to pick a theme.
Do you have to have the same theme for the engagement party and wedding?

    We were planning an “I Do” BBq as our engagement party, but ended up canceling it. No you don’t need to make them the same theme, my wedding is going to be Kingdom Hearts themed.

    I think we are going more casual and do a BBQ with a blue jean and white shirt wardrobe theme.

    We had a brunch and bubbly themed shower and we had breakfast and mimosas. we didn't have a theme for our wedding.

    Your wedding is the colours you love and want to envision for the day to come to life.

    The engagement party can be less and no theme at all if chosen. However, it doesn't mean you have to have the same, just different and easy if you wish.

    The theme can be different and totally whatever you'd like it to be! Or if you want to do the same theme for both, go for it Smiley smile

    I don't think they have to be the same. I'm actually looking forward to having different themes so that it's not like they're seeing the same thing every time they come to celebrate us. Then it also saves from worrying about things being too similar from one party to the other. I feel like it takes away some of the planning stress to just keep it different. Do whatever feels most fun for you 😁

    Whatever you want to do is perfect, as long as you love it that’s what matters!

    We didn’t do a theme for our engagement party! we had our party at a local pub in a private room! if anything, the theme would be was just CELEBRATION!

    If anything they should be different! Wouldn't want the same party twice. Plus, two different season call for two different colour schemes.

    No, you don’t need to have the same theme for wedding and any pre wedding parties. Choose whatever theme you want for either!
