Engagement Party

Brittany, on May 18, 2020 at 00:21 Posted in Before the wedding 0 5
Hey everyone!
I’m currently trying to plan my engagement party for the end of this summer. I live in New Brunswick (Fredericton but the engagement party will be in Saint John). There are currently no active cases and businesses are starting to open up here. We plan on having the engagement party in the garage and outside (pending weather). However, due to the size (probably around 35-40 people) it might be hard to ensure social distancing if restrictions aren’t eased by then.
If we have to reschedule we obviously will as we want everyone to be safe. My family is being very optimistic about being able to have the party and I’m certainly hoping by then we will be able to, however I’m just wondering what some other people thing. Do you think it’s outrageous to think we might be able to have the party in August?

Yeah we are hoping it doesn’t come to that but of course we will make sure everyone is aware of the possibility.

Thanks so much. We aren’t hiring anyone so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

I'm pretty sure the next phase is gatherings of up to 50, and we might enter that in 3-4 weeks! I think you'd be ok to plan, as long as all your guests know that you may need to postpone on short notice if the province has active cases and moves back a phase.

So fingers crossed you should be fine!

Without knowing the ins and outs of NB’s reopening plan, this certainly doesn’t strike me as outrageous! I could be mistaken but I recall hearing that gatherings of up to 50 may be in the cards by summer’s end?

If you’re comfortable moving forward, I think you should! Especially if you haven’t hired a bunch of professional help, won’t be at risk of losing deposits etc. Under those circumstances rescheduling probably wouldn’t be much of a hassle at all - if it comes to that. But like I said it sounds to me like a realistic goal. Good luck and congratulations!
