Engagement Party

Corabelle, on June 8, 2019 at 17:00 Posted in Before the wedding 0 4

My fiance and I want to throw a little engagement party, but we are both looking to invite just close family and not invite everyone we want to invite to the wedding. Is that okay? This will also be the time for both sides of the family to meet for the first time.

I'm thinking around Christmas, this way we can have a holiday gathering at the same time

That's 100% ok! In fact, it's a good idea to keep the guest list small and personal because etiquette-wise, anyone invited to a pre-wedding party should also be invited to the wedding, so you want to make sure these guests are absolutely going to get an invite. Where are you thinking of hosting it?

Thanks! I definitely think it would be a simple outing something like that

I would say it's more than okay - most engagement parties are only the close friends and family. I would never think that it's for everybody invited to the wedding (my wedding list is at 250!).
