    I just had my engagement party a few months back. Our parents paid for the restaurant, and we only invited immediate family members only which came out to 70 ppl lol crazy... it was like a mini wedding. It was actually really great to have both side of the family meet each other.

    My parents hosted our engagement party and we had some of our closest friends and my grandma and his parents, the couple we asked to MC for us. It was just a backyard potluck and it was great! With champagne and cake. We did not have any aunts and uncles or cousins there.

    LOL! We are trying to keep it cost effective as we are older and paying for everything ourselves....the wedding is costing enough!
