Barbie, on November 28, 2018 at 07:32 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 5

My hubby to be and I have decided that a very small intimate courthouse wedding would be best for us. However i have no idea how to go about this. Could someone what paperwork i need to get before hand and any other tips ☺️

Wait what? I didn’t even know that??? Is it actually? Cause that sucks.

Everything is different for different provinces. Like in BC they have marriage commissioners who are cheaper than normal

Congratulations on your engagement! I agree with Tori, for 100% clarity on the legal side of it, I'd visit your province's web page and contact them directly. Even when I googled our marriage license application process in BC it says it's $100, but when we went in to apply, they told us AFTER you buy it that it's another $80 later to get it registered... Not like that's stopping us from getting married, haha, but just an example of additional information you won't find online.

My FH wanted a courthouse wedding too - keep in mind that not all provinces offer this option. In Alberta, you actually can’t get married at the courthouse which means you do need to find a ceremony location even if it’s just your living room

I'm sure it's probably the same in each province - but just to make sure, here is the link to the Nova Scotia Court Services Page. It does say to contact your local justice centre (with a link to find yours) to see what dates and times are available but I'm sure they would be able to let you know everything that you would need to bring! Smiley smile Congrats on the engagement by the way!!
