Donut Wall

Alex, on February 23, 2020 at 20:39 Posted in Wedding reception 0 5

Hi everyone, my fiance and I are not cake people so we are going with donuts. Just wondering where people have gotten their donuts from for their donut walls? We just want the simple chocolate dip and glazed donuts nothing crazy. Thanks for any tips!

We bought our doughnuts from a local doughnut shop (we did 5 different flavours).

We actually didn't do the wall thing. We thought it was too rustic looking and that wasn't the vibe of our wedding. Not sure if you're really set on the wall though, but if you're entertaining other options, we just rented glass cake stands for ours.

In my city we have a few specialty donut shops that people always get for their donut walls, even though they usually do very crazy and creative toppings on their donuts I have seen them do much more simplified versions for people who ask

I didn’t have a donut wall, but our wedding cake bakery “The Rolling Pin” in Toronto has amazing donuts in creative flavours

I made my own donut wall for my bridal shower and I plan on getting a few dozen chocolate and original glazed from Krispy Kreme. It’s my all times favorite place !

Do you have a favorite doughnut shop? I would start there and explain what you need. If you don't have one maybe research a few nearby and find one you love. Go on a mini taste tour! It's so much nicer to support local if you can, especially if a guest asks where they came from ("this little place on X street" sounds much nicer than "Tim Hortons")

If they end up being more than you want to spend you can supplement them with Costco/Grocery Store in crowd pleasing flavors like cinnamon sugar. Or if you have a Krispy Kreme nearby do the same and add to the local shops' doughnuts with some more generic ones.
I had thought about doing doughnuts for ours but then our favorite spot closed without notice and I have no way of tracking down the baker. They had the best old fashioned sugar doughnuts and they were really close to my office ☹️
