Traditionally, the bride stands on the left side of the altar for the wedding ceremony so that the groom can keep his sword arm free in case he needs to fight for his bride! Thankfully attempts at stealing the bride seem to be a thing of the past, but brides still keep up the tradition of standing...

Traditionally, the bride stands on the left side of the altar for the wedding ceremony so that the groom can keep his sword arm free in case he needs to fight for his bride! Thankfully attempts at stealing the bride seem to be a thing of the past, but brides still keep up the tradition of standing on the left side.

    Oh! That is why that it is so. I always wondered. In my head I am on the left so makes sense. Hoping FH doesn't have to fight Smiley tongue

    Hadn’t thought about it... but likely doing. the way our ceremony venue is set up, it’ll work way better for me and my girls to be on the left side

    Huh, never knew that's why they chose sides... but ya - I don't plan on changing it up? No reason to do so, just stick to what is "normal". (I use that term loosely.)
