Dog down the isle?

Stacey, on March 6, 2018 at 00:46 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 7
Just a thought, but is anyone including their other child-a.k.a their pets! On their wedding day?

my dog is my whole world and also for my FH’s. We’ve discussed having our dog apart of the wedding. Our little engagement announcement was of my dog and the ring but my question is if anyone else thinking of doing the same or has their story of including their pets?

I think if you guys want to do it and it makes you happy and the dog is pretty well behaved you shouldn't have any problems.

I have seen couples incorporate their pets in the wedding before, I love the idea! We're getting married out of province, so we unfortunately can't bring our dog, as she's not good with flying.

We did a similar engagement announcement with our puppy (now a full-sized Shepherd).

Courtney I think summed it up really nicely with things to consider. Make sure that there is someone to keep an eye on the dog before, during and after.

I've seen people incorporate their dogs and it can be really cute! It's a nice idea especially if your puppers has been 'involved' in your announcements! There are a few things to consider though:

    1. Behaviour of Dog. Is there any chance that they may be scared or shy or overly hyper with all those people around?

    2. There's always the potential for an accident walking down the aisle.

    3. What do you do with the dog before and after the ceremony? Who's in charge of the dog? Is the venue close enough to your home that someone can drop the dog off after the ceremony as they probably can't come to the reception.

We are going to be including our husky in our engagement and wedding photos. Since we are getting married at Fort Edmonton Park it won’t be possible le for her to walk me down the isle, but there would be so many people there I wouldn’t want her to be over stimulated. She is a very high energy dog and when people are excited she gets excited.

OMGGGGG!!!! Soooo adorable! I love how you announced your engagement with your pup. We considered having ours at our ceremony but he would never be able to handle that many people. He is a chiweenie and is way too hyper to walk down the aisle and sit there calm lol

Yeah as long as your ceremony venue allows it, do it.

We're not doing this but I think it's a great idea to include your furbaby! He's one of the most important beings to you after all Smiley smile

We have cats... no way to incorporate them into a walk down the aisle in a happy manner *laughs*
